Filling, Sanding, and Finishing

I’ve started on the finishing work: fixing all (?) the little blemishes and cosmetic flaws, and some of the minor mechanical flaws that could present problems, such as letting paint beneath the wraps (potentially causing melting).

Some of these are simple: press a little epoxy clay along the sides of the S-IC tunnel covers, between the covers and the plastic wrap. Others are more intricate: repair the gap in the wrap above the tunnel cover whose forward end overlaps the S-II’s forward skirt. I’ve spent about an hour and a half on this so far; I expect I’m about ⅓ to ½ done.
